Crail Golf Links

Crail Golfing Society, formed in 1786, is the 7th oldest golf club in the world. It has two courses, Balcomie Links and Craighead Links, combining spectacular views with challenging golf.

Balcomie was laid out by Tom Morris and opened in 1895. Its unusual mix of three par fives, six par threes and nine par fours produces a tough par of 69. Those who expect a soft touch because of its length do so at their peril.

Craighead is a cliff-top course by Gil Hanse, with the sea visible from every hole and no trees to protect you from the wind. It has panoramic views, protected Sites of Special Scientific Interest beside the 13th and 14th, and a World War I pill box behind the 7th green.
