The Old Course, St Andrews

The Old Course is the oldest and most famous course in golf, recognised around the world by the Swilcan Bridge and Hell Bunker. For all its status it remains a public course, open to anyone who can get a tee time.

  • Established: c. 1400
  • Holes: 18
  • Length: 6,670 yards
  • Par: 72

It is also the host of The 155th Open, from 11 to 18 July 2027, a record 31st Open on these links. St Andrews Links warns of disruption and closures across its courses in the run-up, so check the dates early if you plan to travel that summer.
