The Open returns to St Andrews from 11 to 18 July 2027. It will be one of the most sought-after weeks in golf, and it makes 2027 a year to plan early.
Decide what you want from the trip
Watching The Open and playing great golf are two different trips. If you want to do both, Scotland has plenty of options beyond St Andrews. Ayrshire, the Highlands, Aberdeenshire and Edinburgh and East Lothian all make strong bases.

Courses hosting or close to a major championship change their availability around it. Check The Open for tickets and St Andrews Links for its courses before you fix your dates.
Consider another time of year
